I bought this for my 2012 Ram 1500 Quad sport, and it fits...perfectly. Everything was packaged well with lots of foam padding in box. Took about an hour at a slow pace to install. Instructions were fine. Easy to understand. All I needed was a 15mm socket and ratchet. When I first had it installed, I noticed that the rubber seals were not flat at the hinges. I was worried, but after letting the sun hit it for awhile and then using a hair dryer to warm them, the seals use their "memory" to return to their original form, as they are supposed to. The quality is very good, works as advertised... and looks pretty sweet. Seals well, too. This is a great product. At 734 bucks (at least when I ordered it), it is an awesome deal. Get it! You will NOT be disappointed.

Reese Towpower 30056 Pro Series 15K Fifth Wheel Hitch Review

I have no association with Reese or the RV/trailer industry. This is my own personal experience with this product.

Yes this is an economy hitch as advertised by Reese. The installation instructions were complete and the process went well. The bolts going through the frame have a knurled head to ease installation, which requires a less common drill bit size. The frame bolts are pulled in near the gas tank using a provided fish wire. Because gas tanks are normally mounted right next to the frame in most trucks, a knurled bolt head is needed so you only have to tighten the nut, and not both the nut and bolt due to the lack of space between the frame and gas tank.

The side to side movement of most hitches is only 5 degrees. This hitch has 5 degrees which seems to be an industry standard. The welds are good and complete for the weight rating, and the powder coat is the same as many other products in the hitch industry by Reese.

Before buying this hitch, I found the installation instructions online and insured I understood them, had all the tools ready, and was capable of doing the install myself. The drill bits are large due to the stress these bolts have to handle. I used a 30 year old standard 3/8 drill. When drilling, use a lubricant, and easy on the pressure. Let the drill bit do the work.

Now, as far as the hitch goes, it works as advertised. I see no need to buy a 18-20k hitch when I'm pulling less than 10k. The hitch works as advertised and saved me $600 due to the price and self installation. I just returned from a 600 mile round trip with no issues at all. The only down side I see to the hitch, is that it locks the king pin with a slide bar instead of jaws as most of the higher class hitches use. From what I've read, jaws are used for higher weight ratings and to help keep the hitch quiet. I honestly didn't experience any noise during our trip where we traveled on concrete slab, asphalt, and a small amount of gravel road.

I bought this hitch as a trial, and was willing to upgrade it if I didn't like it. I would have the rails already installed. I could easily replace this hitch with a used higher end hitch, and sell this hitch in the classifieds with little money loss. At this point I am happy with it and have no plans to upgrade.

If you're looking for an economical alternative to $110 an hour install rates and $700 hitches, give this one a try. I am very please with it.

Curt Manufacturing 17002 1000 Tw Round Bar Kit 1000 Lb Max Tongue Review

My Tahoe has a Class III hitch capable of towing 5,000 lbs (500 lb tongue weight) without a Weight Distribution (WD) hitch, but 10,0000/1000 lbs with one. I recently bought a tractor and implements with a 20' dual axle trailer that weighed 8,000+ lbs and didn't want to take the risk of tearing off the hitch. This device is ingenious and worked as advertised. Heavy duty is an understatement. The welds are beautiful (as these things go) and the quality is top notch. Couple of observations:
a) There's no indication about whether the shank can be used upside down. The rise is specified as 5 5/8in. rise and 2 3/8in. drop, which means your hitch better be pretty low. Mine's not so I flipped the shank to get better drop. Everything is solid steel with reinforced weldments so I guess it's ok. Owner instruction sheet is silent on whether this is advisable or not. Worked for me.
b) It took two former football players (linebackers) to crank the load on the spring rods with the lever supplied. I'm looking for a longer lever.
c) With the rods loaded and everything hooked up, the load on the Tahoe's hitch appeared to be negative. That is, the shank was resting on the top part of the receiver, not on the bottom. I thought about lessening the spring tension by going down a link or two, but decided that could be done if necessary after observing performance. Didn't need to.
d) Mounting the hitch head to the shank bar was a little goofy/counter-intuitive (instructions could use a little sprucing up there) but it's not impossible to figure out and it's not something you need to change once set for your rig.
e) Had one problem - the hook used for "jacking" the load bar with the lever broke on first use on one of the brackets. CURT was amazing. Overnighted me a new set and sent FedEx out to pick up the defective one AFTER the new ones arrived. No credit card involved. No questions asked. Looked like the massive steel hook had been overheated when bent into a hook. They replaced the pair (both brackets) without me even asking. Superb customer service. Real people in Wisconsin.
This is the first such hitch I've used, but I'm completely satisfied and glad I bought it. Amazon's price was fantastic, along with free shipping (75# box). Would recommend to my best friend... Wait - already did.

I have used these chains for 2 seasons and have driven hundreds of miles on them. I love them and will never use another chain. They are quick and easy to attach. I am frequently in and out of the "chain-up area" before other drivers have even straightened out their chains. The low profile, 9mm chain links make for comfortable driving even at higher speeds.

I use them on a 2008 Subaru Impreza Outback. The owner's manual for this car says to never use chains or cables because they may interfere with the anti-lock brakes and steering mechanisms. This is apparently typical for smaller sports cars. But the state police won't always let me up the pass without chains installed, despite AWD and all-weather tires. I took the chains and the car to the Subaru dealership, had them put the car on a lift and install the chains. The dealership said they were fine and would not interfere with sensitive parts. I have been using these chains without issue, and after 2 seasons they show minimal wear. I fully expect to use them for 2 more seasons. I have not experienced the cable problem another reviewer had.
