INDY-CATOR Black Edition multi color Review

I bought this item a little over a year ago. I liked it as a cool accessory for my truck, and I honestly liked having a way to glance down and see my gear displayed.

Installation was a big project, it took me a good portion of a day to get it all hooked up. It requires you to open up your dash and do some splicing of wires, usually wiring into your cigarette lighter so that power goes off when you turn the vehicle off. The instructions were not top notch but acceptable.

The connections didn't sit very snug, and depending on the temperature the unit will lose power randomly. The manual states that you need to be very careful to temperature control the unit, but that's not always possible in a car or truck that doesn't stay in a garage 24/7. The unit also displays the wrong gear if you go up or down a hill (even after re-calibrating) as it calibrates partially based on the angle of the stick.

After about 5,000 miles of use the unit separated along its seams and fell apart in my hand. There was no screw or latch connection, the top of the unit was attached to the bottom with glue, which broke down over the course of a year and fell apart.

There was a 2 year warranty of the Indy-Cator, but there seems to be confusion as to who is responsible for honoring it. I don't blame Amazon, they have excellent customer service and are always very helpful, but the back and forth between them and the company has been unfortunate. After 2 months it hasn't been resolved and I haven't gotten any refund.

For a combination of very high price, very poor construction, a large amount of work, and poor customer service, I give this product only 2 stars.

2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Roof Cross Bars (OEM) Review

IMPORTANT NOTE: Contrary to what the advertisement reads, these cross bars ARE, in fact, compatible with the Hyundai Santa Fe Limited with the Panoramic Sunroof - provided that you do have the roof rack side rails. We just recently purchased the 2013 Santa Fe LWB Limited [the 6-seater], but the dealership didn't have any cross bars in stock, but because our model had the roof rack side rails, we were told that we could purchase the cross bars at a later time and have them installed.

After searching online, however, we were completely confused as to whether Hyundai even made cross bars for the models with the panoramic sunroof. Going onto Hyundai Forums didn't make matters any better, as there wasn't a single person who could give a reasonable "YES" or "NO" answer. There was only speculation and references to aftermarket roof rack systems. So, once we arrived at Amazon and found these, we were really discouraged by the notation: "WILL NOT WORK WITH A PANORAMIC SUNROOF!" But, we took a leap of faith anyway and were very satisfied with the result. We now have a classy-looking roof rack system and it doesn't interfere with our sunroof in any way! Our new Santa Fe Limited [in Becketts Black, with the black leather interior] looks so sophisticated and luxurious and stylish, and adding these cross bars really brought out its rugged appeal. The bars themselves are rock solid and appear to be made of extremely good quality material. I would not hesitate to loan heavy items onto these - although we'd never truly need to, seeing as how we're only a family of 4, so for longer road trips, the cargo area behind the second row of seats is more than enough space.

Shipping was extremely quick - only 3 days or so - and the packaging was very satisfactory. I would recommend these cross bars to anyone with the new Hyundai Santa Fe...especially if you have the Limited model. These are very classy looking and are the kind that sit flush to the roof - not those gigantic obnoxious arching ones seen in some press photos. And again, please be advised that if your vehicle does have the side rails, then THESE WILL WORK WITH THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF :)
