Smittybilt 18604 Black Contractors Rack Review

The Smittybilt black contractors rack was made for my truck. Although current literature shows the rack on a GM crew cab pickup, the height of this rack is made to fit a Ford Super Duty. The temporary J-bolts also fit perfect on the Super Duty.

It is a big rack, but a little research shows how Smittybilt is known for JEEP and off-road type gear. This fits the bill in that respect.

This isn't my first contractor rack, and although the instructions are hard to see, if you have put one of these together before, it shouldn't take more than two hours. Lay it on the floor and separate the nuts and bolts.

The removable rear cross bar may come in handy. I can think of several times on other racks I have owned that, "on occasion" this feature would have been handy.

It is definitely heavy duty. 2" coated bars and everything fit together without much "friendly persuasion."

It also comes with enough nuts and bolts regardless of how you choose to mount. The bolts will not rust anytime soon. They are the same nuts and bolts that come with every contractor rack I have purchased and I still have one on another truck over 3 years old and no rust.
