Yakima Sparetime One Color, One Size Review

I bought this to go on a Jeep Wrangler. For the most part I am satisfied.

Pros: As with all Yakima products, the materials are completely up to snuff, sturdy and strong!! Built to last!
Good engineering and R&D put into this product (i.e. mounting hardware and cable lock loop are all able to be secured
from theft).
Comes w/ 3 different length tubes to mount the actual rack to (i.e. if running larger than aftermarket tires, more than likely
you'll have the correct tube for spare tire clearance).
Comes w/ coated cable lock long enough to secure bike(s) to rack
Capability to fold down when not in use
Thick felt on bar as to not scratch top tube when bike(s) are mounted
Very easy installation!

Cons: Rack bars are not long enough to properly fit a hardtail and a dually w/o rubbing against each other (pretty much my main
gripe only because the day I broke it in was the day I went to pick up my new dually and by the time I got home there was
paint rubbed off the front fork from rubbing together, partly my fault because I should have added some padding on rub
points)
The radius curvature of the bars and seat post tab should be wider to accommodate larger diameter tubes.
The felt on the bars where the tubes ride when bike(s) are mounted started slipping and almost came off the first hot day
we had (minor issue, but hey, I'm trying to give a practical review).

In a nutshell I would definitely recommend this product! You can never go wrong with Yakima, they do their R&D and actually use the products they sell so they know what works and what doesn't!!
